On September 10, 2022, the shipment of Monopile #22 from the Zhongshan Base, jointly established by Ziking and Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., marked the successful completion of the production and fabrication of large-diameter monopoles destined for the CGN Shanwei Jiazi Phase-II Wind Farm.

Monopiles for Jiazi Phase-II Wind Farm feature a maximum pipe diameter of 9,500 mm, a maximum length of 105 meters, a maximum single-section weight of 66 tons, and a maximum single-pile weight of 1,987 tons—setting records as the largest-diameter and heaviest monopiles ever manufactured at the Zhongshan Base. This contract represents another major offshore wind turbine foundation project delivered by Ziking amid the concentrated development of the Guangdong Shanwei Offshore Wind Farm complex. It builds upon Ziking’s prior supply of monopoles for projects including the CGN Jiazi Booster Station, CGN Houhu Offshore Wind Farm, and CGN Jiazi Phase-I Wind Farm. In delivering these products with assured quality and quantity, Ziking’s workforce not only endured the challenges posed by scorching heat, typhoons, and torrential rains but also overcame production difficulties such as oversized pipe diameters, excessive weights, and the resulting complexities in single-section hoisting, segmented transportation, and final assembly.

Shanwei Jiazi Phase-II Wind Farm is designed to synchronize with Phase-I for grid connection. Electricity generated by both phases will be stepped up to 500 kV at the onshore booster station before being fed into the 500 kV Maohu Substation. This will help alleviate power demand in Guangdong Province and reduce reliance on coal-fired power generation.
As China’s very first grid-parity offshore wind farm project, the successful delivery of monopiles for Jiazi Phase-II Wind Farm adds a defining milestone to Ziking’s portfolio of large-diameter monopile production, underscoring Ziking’s contribution to advancing clean energy and fostering high-quality, sustainable economic development.
